The STIK Team is honored to dedicate this beanie to a very good friend, Annie McNamara Evans. Annie was friends with several members of the STIK team from different times and places in her life; the most recent being with Christina after Annie was diagnosed with Leukemia in 2015. In an effort to take her mind off of things, some of Annie's friends organized a knitting class taught by Christina at Annie's house. It was this time spent with Annie, her family, and friends that Christina decided to start a program to help support young adults going through cancer treatment - our Give A Sh*t program.
We love Annie - she was sweet, positive, and SO funny. Sadly, Annie passed away from her hard-fought battle with Leukemia in early November. We are heartbroken for her and for her family. At a time when we all felt incredibly helpless, our team felt that there was something we could do to commemorate our friend.
Annie, her amazing husband, Dan, and her family have been incredible supporters of Sh*t That I Knit, so it only felt right to create a beanie in Annie's name. We've paired our Ladd Beanie in Blacklist with a white faux fur pom pom in honor of Bowdoin College and the Ladd social house where Annie and Dan met.
A portion of all proceeds from this beanie will be donated to the Dr. Robert Soiffer’s AML Research Fund.
