Color Crush: How to wear hot pink (without looking like Barbie)

Color Crush: How to wear hot pink (without looking like Barbie)

When the days become shorter and the nights cooler, it’s usually my cue to pack up the sundresses and pull out my sweaters and boots. And if you’re anything like me, that means your closet goes from fun and vibrant to a bit… moody in an hour flat. Now don’t get me wrong, I believe the neutral uniform - black on black, many shades of gray, camel and cream - deserves priority real estate from October to March. But if we learned anything from Jenna Lyons, there’s no reason why we need to stick to the status quo all the time. Enter: hot pink as a neutral.

Who What Wear (the holy grail of fashion inspo) is declaring “Extraverted Pink” as one of the biggest color trends for Fall+Winter. And we are here for it (although we happen to think our introverted friends also look fabulous in this shade too). From the stages of NYFW (hellooo Chanel and Valentino), to the trendiest Instagram #influencers, to our favorite female badasses - I scoured the interwebs to find pops of hot pink that you can effortlessly incorporate into your winter attire. Because let’s be real - a burst of bright pink is sure to liven up the chilly mornings that are undoubtedly coming our way.

Winter doesn't have to mean a monochrome closet! Tell us in the comments how you plan to style this trend this season. Or let us know what other colors you're crushin' on this fall+winter!
