So I heard (as you’ve probably heard) that to maintain some semblance of normalcy while we’re working from home, you’re supposed to get up every day, shower, get dressed, put on real pants, yada yada yada. Well - I did as I was told and wore real pants for the first two days of Quarantine. And I was very proud of myself - I felt accomplished, I felt kind of normal, and I honestly looked forward to the end of the day when I was going to put on my real PJs.
Fast forward 3 weeks, and let’s just say, my stance on wearing real pants has changed dramatically. Literally on day 3, I was following my “new normal” routine, when I stopped and thought, “Who am I kidding?! Now is the time to capitalize on this opportunity to wear pants without buttons!!!” 20 days later, I’m all in on everything from leggings to joggers to PJ bottoms.
But here’s the problem: because I’ve never had the privilege of wearing comfy clothes so many days in a row, my closet is lacking in the “cute lounge sets'' department. And since posting your LSOTD (Lounge Set Of The Day) seems to be a trend on Instagram, I’ve been on the hunt for a couple (read: as many as my budget allows) good quality, chic but comfy outfits.
I asked a bunch of my friends for their favorite loungewear brands, did my own research, picked out my favorites, and compiled a categorized list for you all. Now, I’m officially ready to bring you, from the (self-proclaimed) ‘Comfy Clothes GAL’, the Comfy Clothes Bible.
Everyday Comfy
Definition: These are your classic athleisure sets for running errands, traveling, etc.
My fav find: Monrow Supersoft Satin Stripe Raglan and Monrow High Waisted Satin Stripe Sweats
I have to say, it was difficult to pick a favorite. Monrow takes the cake on my favorite brand I’ve found from my Comfy Clothes Bible research. While this brand is definitely on the pricier side, the quality is evident and I love all of the fun prints, colors, and details that they offer. The Satin stripe on this set is subtle, but unique. I’m particularly a fan of the slightly high waisted pants matched with the slightly cropped sweatshirt - it’s perfect for hiding any signs of the Quarantine 15...
Other Everyday Comfy recs:
Lou & Grey Signature Soft Plus Upstate Sweatshirt and Sweatpants
Comfy Cozy
Definition: These sets are perfect for cozying up inside when it’s cold outside.
My fav find: Nadaam Everyday Jogger and Cropped Hoodie
This set is one of those no-blanket-needed sets. When you’re sitting by the fire or reading your book on the couch, no blanket needed! It’s the hands down comfiest-looking set I found. It’s bulky, but still so trendy and cute. I love the brighter color options as we head into QuaranSpring.
Other Cozy Comfy recs:
Project Social T Banded Pant and Crewneck
Nordstrom Flare Leg Lounge Pant
Entireworld Loop Back Sweatshirt
Sporty Comfy
Definition: For rolling into your midday, at-home workout.
My fav find: Alo Yoga High Waist Alosoft Lounge Legging and Alosoft Serenity Bra (bra is probs not safe for work Zoom.)
I’ve been hearing about Alo Yoga for a while now and I’m so glad Comfy Clothes Bible research finally brought me to their site. Alo has an amazing selection of athleisure, but for our purposes, I was drawn to the “Alosoft” collection. I love any legging that can be worn comfortably all day long, but also performs when I exercise.
Other Sporty Comfy recs:
Lululemon Align Pant 28” *A STIK Team fav*
PJ Comfy
Definition: so comfy you can wear them to sleep.
My fav find: Eberjey Vera Slouchy Set.
You may have noticed, my number one requirement for comfy clothes is ultimate softness. I know this brand to have the softest pajama sets and was thrilled to find out they have lounge sets as well. This set is perfectly simple and looks incredibly comfortable to hang out in all day. Best of all, on Zoom, this black top will appear like any other black top.
Other PJ Comfy recs:
PJ Salvage Iconic Lounge Banded Pant
Gap Truesleep Modal Drop Needle Pants
Comfy Feet
Definition Just because you can’t get your monthly pedicure does not mean we should forget about our feet!
My fav find: UGG Oh Yeah Sandal Slippers.
The great thing about slippers is that they’re pretty much just for you to enjoy. Sandal slippers are IN (trust me, I know these things) and I have my eyes on these yellow slides by Ugg. My family won’t know what hit ‘em when I start prancing around the house in these babies!
Other Comfy Feet recs:
L.L. Bean Wicked Good Moccasins
Comfy Real Clothes
And finally, if you must wear real clothes, I recommend something like Spanx leggings and a Dudley Stephens Turtleneck. I didn’t have to do any research on that combo because I’ve worn it to work as many times as acceptable.
Note: All my picks are certified Zoom-safe. Your coworkers will never know you’re wearing glorified pajamas.
So, there you have it! I hope you find this helpful and not too overwhelming. I got a little carried away finding all this COMFY to add to my wardrobe! These days, it’s the simple things that can make a big difference in our days, like wearing a brand new, buttery soft, comfy set.
