Beneath the Beanie: Valerie Macaulay

March is Women’s History Month, and we’re excited to use this space to spotlight female founders and brands that we admire. As a female founder myself, I could not have grown Sh*t That I Knit into the brand it is today without the immense support and camaraderie of other female entrepreneurs who have lifted me up, shared advice, and rooted for me along the way. Enjoy these “Beneath the Beanie” conversations with some of my favorite entrepreneurs in honor of Women’s Month!

First up is Valerie Macaulay, co-founder and Chief Creative Officer of La Ligne. We recently had the pleasure of working with Valerie and the La Ligne team on our Rainbow Collection, and she is as cool and chic as she is down-to-earth, gracious, and humble. Valerie and La Ligne’s two other founders, Meredith Melling and Molly Howard, started the brand in 2013 as a way to bring elevated essentials, inspired by the stripe, to the modern women. Our team brings up La Ligne in almost every weekly meeting - whether it’s a new product launch, catchy Instagram post, celeb wearing their products, the list goes on! Valerie constantly inspires us, and I know she will inspire you too (and make you want to click “add to cart” on a new sweater)!
